Bonavance (EFBC)
Middle September Early January, 10 days before Williams Bon Chretien and 5 days before EFBC  Good taste, typically William's Bon Chretien. Fruit is uniform in shape and size, resulting in fewer picks and less variation. Plant material is selected for improved stability.

Late September to early October Early January Packham's Triump  Good early pear for local market.

Early Bon Chretien
Early to middle September Late December to early January. Forelle  Less delayed foliation than Bon Chretien in warmer areas.

Flamingo
Middle September Early February December, Abate Fetel, Forelle, Rosemarie.  Production medium to high. Storage ability moderate. Taste good and sweet. Red blush develops on a yellow background. Light management important for colour development.

Forelle
Early to late September Late February to early March Kieffer.  Production medium. Attractive blushed pear. Low chilling requirement. Very good storage ability.

Golden Russet Bosc
Middle to late September Early February Bon Chretien. Beurre Hardy. Packham's Triump.  Medium production. Smooth brown russet skin colour. Sweet and juicy taste. Crisp texture, slightly coarse.

Kieffer
Early to late September Late February to early March  Pollinator

Packham's Triump
Middle to late September Middle February Winter Nelis, Rosemarie, December.  Production high. Very good storage ability. Slightly sweet with good taste. Good fruit size.

Rosemarie
Late September Early January December, Packham's Triump.  Production high. Early maturing pear with a pink blush and a yellow background. Sweet and juicy taste. Trees must be open for good colour, thin for good size.

Sophia's Pride
Middle September Early January. Week 1-3 in the Koue Bokkeveld  Attractive red blush. Sensitive skin. Good eating quality. Good keeping quality (8 weeks at -0.5 C). Early blushed pear with good colouring and eating quality.

William's Beaut
Middle September Middle to late December Decembers, Bonavance  Very good taste and sweet flavour. Early Bon Chretien selection with large fruit and typically good eating quality. Good storage potential, can be stored for eight weeks.
